Sometimes life decides to throw everything at you at the same time, and I guess the only thing you can do is to suck it up and deal with it.

不知道1月8号到底是什么日子。

Friday, 8 January 2016. This must be one of the craziest, busiest days in my life.

My whole Thursday was spent at CHEC bump-in until 10pm, when I rushed back to hall to drop my stuff and get a cab to the airport to send the boyfriend off, who's going overseas for 6 months to work/study. Stayed at the airport until around 12am, when he finally went in, and took another cab back to hall. I think I spent about 60 dollars on cab alone for that day, which is crazy. Got back to hall around 1am, showered, and packed stuff for the morning. By the time I went to sleep it was about 3am.

Woke up around 8am and I swear, when I thought about the day ahead, I really didn't feel like getting out of bed. Thinking about performing my small item for CHEC in the evening made my stomach feel uncomfortable and I felt nervous about it, because I had been playing my part wrongly since bump-in the day before. (Later on, I realized that the uncomfortable feeling in my stomach might not have been due to butterflies in my stomach, but just period cramps.) Furthermore, my leg muscles were aching really badly from training on Wednesday, and I didn't feel at my best for the floorball match later. But I pulled myself out of bed in the end and went to UCC again for bump-in. Only stayed for about an hour until 10am, then hurried back to hall to meet the rest of the floorball team for our match that day. There were 2 matches that day, but I only played the first one, since the second clashed with my full dress rehearsal later on. Somehow or other, I was feeling a bit more tired than usual when coach was briefing us on what to do later on in the match. I thought it was the amount of sleep that I got, but later on I realized that the tiredness might have been due to my period because yes, it was the first day of my period. After her talk, I told her that I was a little tired, and she told me to just do what I can. Got to the court, warmed up, and started playing. It was a bad first period during the floorball match. I went in only a few times before I started feeling really really tired. Went in again, and then I started having period cramps all the way to the start of the second period. Thankfully, during the second period, the cramps disappeared for some time and I felt slightly better as well, allowing me to perform better than the first period. Finally, in the third period, I think everyone was getting tired and we slackened a bit, letting in 2 goals. Although we did win that match in the end, it wasn't a very well played match. But still, I felt alright after the match because I think I did what I could.

After the debrief by coach, I rushed back to hall to shower, then to UCC for the full dress rehearsal. When I stepped into our dressing room, I heard the rest on the speakers doing tuning already, which meant that they were gonna the song soon. Got changed into the proper attire, then rushed down with my violin and made it for the first song, with my hair still wet and my violin not tuned yet. After the full dress rehearsal, we had a few hours before the actual concert so I used that time to rest instead. And finally, actual concert itself. I was pretty stressed over our small item because I was the weakest link in the group and the screw ups usually happen because of me. During the actual concert, I was quite nervous during the first part and felt like I screwed up a bit, then I missed an entrance and totally forgot an entire phrase and air violin-ed it. Well, apparently no one noticed it as far as I've asked, which I'm glad. After our item, the rest told me it was good and that it was our best run, and I honestly couldn't really believe it. But when even the audience told me that our item was okay compared to the other items, I was just so so glad and I really felt better after that. Giant sigh of relief. After the concert, life pretty much went back to normal. Did the usual post-concert stuff such as meeting friends, getting gifts/flowers, taking photos, and then went back to hall, debriefed, showered, and ordered supper. So yeah, we had a supper session together after that, although not with everyone there. And finally after that, I could go back to my room and sleep.

Sadly, I had to wake up around 9am the next morning to go do FYP, but well, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I wasn't dying and I didn't feel too tired to get out of bed. I was just tired.

And that concludes my 8 January 2016. First day of period with cramps, sending boyfriend off at the airport for a 6 month trip the previous night until late, floorball match in the morning, then rehearsals and the actual concert for CHEC in the afternoon and evening. This has been one hell of a day. So glad when everything was finally over. Today is officially my only holiday, since I have another floorball match tomorrow, and school starts on Monday. This is really crazy, but I guess I signed up for it. Oh well. At least it's all over now (: feeling much better and finally getting some time for myself to do nothing in particular.

Now it's time for me to go to sleep early tonight and rest more. Goodnight!

signing out.
